Skin and Nails

General foot care involves the management of:

  • Cutting toenails that may be have thickened, become odd shaped or even brittle
  • Enucleating (remove) painful corns [cone shaped callus] which can arise due to ill fitting footwear, prominent bones and or focal pressure in certain areas of the foot.
  • Pairing back tender and thickened skin [callus].
  • Debriding cracked skin [fissures] such as around the heels which can cause discomfort and even become a portal of entry for infection/s if left untreated.
  • Use of emollients and creams to hydrate the skin.
  • Foot care education relating to sweaty feet, vein issues and managing little cuts and ways to reduce accumulation of skin lesions.

If you are seeking maintenance of your feet including the nails and skin, we can schedule regular appointments to keep your feet looking and feeling their best. Typically this can range between 6 and 10 weekly intervals.
